The beginning
I remember the first day of school. I was nervous and I distinctly remember coming in late and having to walk into Mrs. Cousineau's class asking her "are you Mrs. Cousineau?". Not the best start to my four years at high school but it was one of many learning moments along this great journey.
THE GREAT ADVENTURE OF SCHOOL and mrs. herder
Some of the most important memories of my time in school is freshman year video class. I remember being a smaller shy freshman that really took making videos seriously. I learned a lot about how to talk to people and make videos. Mrs. Herder was someone who was highly influential in my development. She was the one who taught me what real hard work was. I remember the long nights I spent working on getting my videos looking good enough to be put on wolf news. This hard work was key to my success in High School.
Computer technology
One of the most important aspects of my High School career was my time working as a computer technician. I work as a computer technician for Laingsburg Community Schools and as a technician I work on fixing simple everyday problems, managing iPads, and many other different things. This job was extremely important in my development because it gave me firsthand job experience and helped me learn how to work with others.
I remember at the beginning I had to learn a lot and adapt to situations that I didn't know what to do. As time went on I learned more and more and the job became an integral part of my life.

What i would have done differently
As with anything in life, the second time around you will always do things differently. high school is no different. Out of all of the things that I would do differently the most important thing is to get out more and talk to people and meet new friends. I regret being very isolated and not talkative for the first few years in high school. I think I would have had a much better time had I been actively going out of my way to make friends and explore new things.
Another thing that I would do differently is how I studied. I would often time put off things until the very last minute. This was pointless and only lead to great stress. Procrastination is something that everyone has to deal with but if you work hard and finish things before they are due it will always go better for you.

EVENTs THAT DEFINED ME (OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL)
Everyone has events that changes their lives forever. One such event for me was when I was walking outside and I heard a cat's desperate meow. I followed the terrible noise and found a small kitten drowning in a water trough. I quickly latched out and saved the poor animal. While this seems like a not so important event, it truly changed my perspective on life. That moment I realized that everyone in life, no matter how independent will at some point need help. I took this lesson to heart and made it my goal to help other people who were in need. Not only did this help me help others but it made me more receptive to help and support from others.
In one time or another we must all learn humility. My experience that gave me humility was the day that I was flying my new spiderman kite. Like most kite experiences it got caught in a tree. Well I am not one for defeat so I decided I would climb 20 feet up this tree in order to retrieve my new spiderman kite. I got to the top and through the kite down. In triumph I threw my hands up in the air for celebration. Bad idea. Down, down I fell, a great descent of man onto the cold hard ground. Luckily I got away with only some bruises and a traumatic sprained pinkie finger. Very lucky that I didn't break a leg. But I took these injuries and turned this event into a life lesson. This is what taught me humility. I then understood that I wasn't invincible and needed to be careful in my life.
One of the most important events in my life was the time that I conquered my fears of heights and went zip lining. Zip lining is lots of fun, it is pretty safe, and in general almost never does anyone get hurt. Well, of course, things went wrong for me. Being very small and skinny, I didn't quite have enough momentum to make it to the other side of the zip line. So I unfortunately got stuck in the middle. For a whole hour! It was one of the most frightening moments in my life. But while I was stuck in the middle of the zip line and the zip line guides were trying to retrieve me I had plenty of time to think. I knew I was going to be ok, and that everything would end up alright. So I relaxed and my fear of heights quickly vanished. What before would have been a terrible experience, became fun as I got to look around while I was stuck on the zip line. Anyone can conquer any fear with bravery and perseverance.

my ADVICE TO YOU
If I had someone who was a senior tell me things that you should do in order to be successful while I was a senior there is a very good chance that I wouldn't have listened to anything said. So this is my first advice to you, actually listen to those who have more experience than you. They probably know a thing or two more than you do.
As far as grades go I would recommend that you make them one of the primary focuses while you are in high school because they will impact the rest of your life. It is also a good idea to get good grades for the first two years in order to bump up your GPA for the difficult junior and senior years.
I would also recommend that you go out of your way to meet new people. Believe it or not it isn't that people don't want to talk to you, it is just that they are too shy to. So be the person who talks to other people! Meet people and make friends. It will make your high school experience much better.
Most importantly remember to have fun! This is an experience that you can only have one time, and you want to make the most out of it.
